42 years of pregnancy and no delivery yet, is the state of lokpal bill. However, the political doctors try to claim their superiority over the civil society by merely trying to delay the Jan lokpal bill still further. Though there were public display of support by the political cream of India, their behind the screen happenings just do take us aback.
The democratic resistance to political procrastination is still being responded by the government cream with hesitations. Some of the media too seems to wag their loyally to their masters. But our confidence still do exist, in a much stronger way, on the honest media. To seek clarity amidst ambiguities one must understand the intentions of the speaker. There cannot be a second thought on the fact that, Jan lokpal is very much essential for our country and would serve a lot of good. Thus it become the common interest of the nation. Anything that tries to derail the common interest of the country, directly or indirectly, shall be termed evil. Thus a “good force”, support enacting Jan lokpal bill in all ways, while the evil opposes Jan lokpal in every possible way.
Strategically speaking, the ways of attacks are laid down as “Saama, Dhaana, Baedha and Dhanda” in Artha shaastra. This means “peace talk, luring, disturbing unity and direct attack” respectively. This is what the political cream had been doing. Saama : There were attempts made to dilute the resolve of national heros right at the fasting itself, but in vain. Alluring a calm and stable mind couln’t be that effective. Bedha, is what is being used, with full force now. Unless we stand united the evil powers might succeed. Dhanda is powerless against a peaceful protest in a democracy. So lets now concentrate on the Bedha part, as this is the most viable weapon against the national cause.
It first started with smear campaigns, accusing the members of the draft committee to be unclean. However, the slammers, obviously, were not of impeachable honesty. Later there were attempts to misinterpret any word from Anna Hazare and his company. But that too didn’t seem very successful. The latest are attempts made on diluting the unity of the supporters of Anna Hazare and India Against Corruption. Unity is the only means by which we can wade off such attempts. When we all are aware that this 5 member team is just helping in preparing the key points of the law and don’t seek any benefit by doing so, why give room for thoughts that divert you, by making accusation on them or calling us divided.We have to keep in mind that the members of the drafting committee just point out the weaker points of the law, welcome comments from any indian citizen to correct it and urge the government to pass the bill. They don’t even ask to be made as the members, of the autonomous institute called lokpal, which will be created once the bill is passed. Remember that they don’t even get paid for this noble service. Don’t we understand, that it is the shear ego of the politicians who try to cover up their inability by false accusations on our heros.
We shall always make our stand clear, that we shall always be united, in this second freedom struggle. Remember, any news that makes you think, against India Against Corruption and Anna Hazare would just be another attempt to weaken us. We all should ensure that the motives of the clique are not favoured, at any means, at any cost and to any extent. Ask yourself… they have already defeated the bill several times and they still can, if we don’t stand up strong and united. Ask yourself…. What happened to the other bills like the women reservation bill which still couldn’t be passed but very much anticipated; Will we let Jan lokpal one of such unpassed bills? Ask youself… who is benefited if Jan lokpal is passed and who won’t like it to have such a strong anti-corruption law; would you stand between our country and its prosperity? And finally ask youself… wont you be a responsible citizen to seek the well being of the country? wont you be a the dutiful family member and fight for your own family and free your children from corruption? would you leave behind a corrupt society for your own children to suffer? Are not you the proud Indian who always believes and strives for the country? And are not you that human being who can say “ I am a human being and I stand for good of human race”.
It’s the hour of test of our patriotism. Will you stand the test? Will you be united? Will you survive the test to be presented with a corruption free society? Won’t you be the part of India’s second freedom movement, India Against Corruption.
